Special Event Permits & Inspections for Schools

School Special Event Application

West Metro Fire Rescue requires a School Special Event Plan Review Application for events at school buildings that may exceed the building or room occupancy, will use an excessive amount of decorations, will reduce or eliminate the exits or egress paths out of the building or when high risk items may be used. High risk items would include bon fires, open flames, fog machines and other items designated by the school district.

Once the plan review form has been completed and submitted a Deputy Fire Marshal will contact the event coordinator for additional details or to schedule a walk-through of the event site.

The event coordinator may also be asked to submit site plans for the event.
Fire Watch may be required for your event if the Fire Marshal determines there is a safety concern. This will be determined after a walk through of the event site. The cost for Fire Watch will be billed directly to the organization coordinating the event. This fee applies to both school organized and outside agency events when required.
