Safety Events & Family Fire Muster
Community Safety Events
In addition to hosting our Family Fire Muster, West Metro Fire Rescue attends safety events hosted by other agencies. Look for us at the annual Jefferson County District Attorney's Safety Fair, International Walk to School Day events, the City of Lakewood's Senior Resource Fairs and more.
We typically send a fire engine for one hour "in service" to approved events located in our district. Please note that crews still need to respond to any emergency calls that come in during their scheduled visit. A designated parking space is required so the engine can leave immediately if a call comes in. Because our crews remain "in service" during events, they cannot be scheduled to staff event activities or judge contests. Thanks for understanding that while we love to get out in the community, emergency response is our first priority.
Requests for West Metro Fire Rescue to attend your safety event need to be submitted at least four weeks in advance using this form.

Here's what to expect:
Break out your Firefighter costume and join us at the 22nd Annual Family Fire Muster. No costume? No Worries! We have retired bunker coats for folks to try on and take pictures, so bring your camera too! But leave your pets at home - pets are not allowed at the Muster.
Kids of all ages will enjoy fun activities like the Junior Firefighter Challenge, Teddy Bear Clinic, Bike Rodeo and inflatable slides.
Tour Fire Station #10 and West Metro's Training Center to see how firefighters prepare for emergencies and what it's like to live the dream of being a firefighter! Families will learn what to do to prepare for their own emergencies - have a Family Escape Plan, how to Call 9-1-1 and how to create their own safety profile online at Smart911.com.
Firefighters demonstrate their response to a residential fire and show how important it is to practice your own family fire drill at home. The National Fire Sprinkler Association has a live-fire demonstration showing how fast sprinklers can extinguisher fire in a home.
