1. How long have you lived in West Metro’s District?
I have lived in the district for over 40 years.  We moved here in 1968.

2. What makes you qualified to serve as an elected official of West Metro’s Board of Director’s? 
I am qualified to serve on the Board because I have been involved in the community since 1994. I am currently serving on the Board.  In addition, I served on the District’s Blue Ribbon Panel in 2006, reviewing the operations and the facilities. I am a graduate of Leadership Jefferson County and the Big Horn Center for Public Policy. I am a CPA with over 30 years of experience. I actively follow my local governmental units and the policies they institute.

3. What does “Representative Government” mean to you?

Representative Government means elected officials represent the entire community.  The Board needs to listen to all points of view when addressing an issue.  The Board needs to balance the needs of the taxpayers along with the employees.

4. What do you see as the three biggest issues facing West Metro Fire Rescue over the next 5 years?
The three biggest issues facing the District are the potential decrease in property values, the diversity of the force and upgrading the accounting systems.

With the decline in property values in the last few years the revenue source for the district will be impacted.  It is important to spend tax revenues wisely and minimize the impact on reserves.

We need to make the force more diverse to meet the changing diversity in the community.
