1. How long have you lived in the West Metro’s District?
I have lived in the West Metro Fire Protection District since December, 1991 and have owned real estate in the District since January, 1980.

2. What makes you qualified to serve as an elected official of the West Metro’s Board of Directors?
I served as a Special Agent Accountant with the Federal Bureau of Investigation responsible for performing quarterly, semi-annual and annual audits of FBI Division accounts. Additionally, I was employed as an Internal Auditor by Rockwell International responsible for implementing audits of corporate manufacturing components.

Additionally, I held Board of Director positions with following organizations:
Latin American Research and Service Agency
Metropolitan State College of Denver Alumni Association and Foundation
City Club of Denver

3. What does “Representative Government” mean to you?
To me, “Representative Government” is a form of government where the powers of a community are delegated to a body of persons, elected from time to time, who exercise those powers for the benefit of the whole community.

4. What do you see as the three biggest issues facing the West Metro Fire Rescue over the next 5 years? Insuring a consistent level of service and maintaining the financial stability of the district while over 70 percent of the district’s funding comes from property taxes when real property values are declining.

Lack of citizen interest and participation in the district’s administration and long term financial stability and adverse citizen sentiment to increase taxes.

District employee moral while firefighters are accepting pay cuts and administrative employees are being laid off due to the economic down turn.
