Prepared Apartment Managers Save Lakewood Man From Drowning in Swimming Pool
Thanks to the quick actions of Manuel and Lisa Chavez a 56 year-old Lakewood man has a fighting chance after nearly drowning this afternoon in the Carr Street Apartment swimming pool. Manuel and Lisa are property managers for the apartment complex and didn’t hesitate to provide assistance when they saw one of their residents sinking to the bottom of the swimming pool.
Within seconds of seeing their resident sink to the bottom they ran to the pool. Lisa called 9-1-1 and Manuel jumped into the water and brought the gentleman to the surface. At that point Lisa started chest compressions and Manuel began mouth-to-mouth breathing. When they initially started CPR the resident was not breathing but by the time emergency responders arrived on scene he was breathing thanks to their quick actions and willingness to respond.
The resident was taken to St. Anthony Central Hospital emergency by West Metro Fire Rescue. His condition is unknown at this time.
West Metro Fire Rescue reminds everyone how important it is to learn CPR. These skills can make a difference in the lives of many others in your community.
