Community
Strong citizen relations are essential to West Metro's ability to preserve life and property, educate the community, encourage healthy living, maintain and expanding District services, and develop support of the District. West Metro Fire Rescue impacts the community by implementing a comprehensive public information and life safety education program.
The Community Outreach Division of West Metro Fire Rescue is dedicated to improving our community’s quality of life by reducing risks that lead to personal injury, loss of life, and property damage. Through educational programs, public information, and community partnerships, our efforts empower all citizens to make responsible, informed decisions regarding their health and safety. We strive to reduce fire loss to people and property and foster an environment of injury prevention and life safety awareness by creating, coordinating and maintaining strong communication, education, and outreach efforts to all our citizens.
As a public agency, West Metro’s success is reflected by not only the quality of our employees and the services we provide, but also our ability to demonstrate our genuine concern for our community’s welfare and develop community confidence in our services. Coordinated public education/information program, media relations, crisis communications, pre- and post-response follow-up, and community relations efforts.
