Wildland team

West Metro's Wildland Team concentrates its efforts on working with citizens in the urban interface areas of the district.

Of West Metro's 15 fire stations, seven of them are designated as primary wildland/urban interface response stations, including Station 4, Station 5, Station 6, Station 9, Station 11, Station 13, Station 14 and Station 15.

All firefighters at these stations have been trained as wildland fire fighters and officers trained as Crew/Squad Bosses.

The Wildland Fire Team participates in several prescription burns each year in cooperation with the United States Forest Service, Colorado State Forest Services, and the Jefferson County Inter-agency Management Group (IMG).
