The West Metro Fire Rescue Fire Marshal's Office is responsible for the application and enforcement of the fire code in all existing buildings and facilities within the Fire District as well as the review, permitting, and approval of all new and existing commercial, institutional, and multi-family residential construction and development. In addition, the Fire Marshal's Office is responsible for regulating the safe storage and use of hazardous materials and with assisting buildings and facilities with emergency preparedness.

The West Metro Fire Rescue Life Safety Division is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of citizens from the dangers of fire, explosion, and hazardous materials by fostering safe environments through inspection, enforcement, investigation, hazardous material regulation, data analysis, and community outreach.
