WFMR Community Fire Academy
West Metro Fire Rescue's 2026 Community Fire Academy offers community members a behind-the-scenes look at how the Agency operates and serves the public each day. Participants will get an in-depth look at emergency response operations, department organization, and decision-making that support our fire, rescue, EMS, and risk reduction services.
Participants receive interactive demonstrations and tours that give a first-hand understanding of the training, equipment, and coordination required for complex incidents. Attendees also receive hands-on emergency medical training and conclude the academy with a live drill-ground firefighting experience that highlights the challenges, teamwork, and skills required on the fireground.

Adults 18 and older are invited to participate. Participation is free; space is limited. The Academy is an exciting, interactive program that offers an authentic look into the fire service. After attending, participants will have a grander understanding of the services provided by West Metro Fire Rescue and be better equipped to prevent and prepare for emergencies in the home and out in the community.
