UPDATE: August 10, 2026-
We have an update to share on West Metro Firefighter/Paramedic Jarrod Leonard, who was injured in a fall during a technical rescue training near Morrison on July 29.
Jarrod has been moved from the hospital to a transitional care facility, where he will continue to receive the care and support he needs. Several West Metro crews were there to escort Jarrod from the hospital to the facility this afternoon.
The next goal is for Jarrod to move to a neurological rehabilitation facility, where he can continue making progress.
Jarrod still has a long road ahead, but this move marks another step forward. We continue to be grateful for the support and well wishes from our community, as well as our fire and law enforcement partners who have supported Jarrod, his family and West Metro throughout this difficult time.
We’ll continue to share updates on Jarrod’s progress when we can.
